It was great to have Torino out again after time off with his unfortunate injury, and he had a very pleasing outing.   He did a very nice test to score 24, nothing wrong and with more to come.  He then jumped a good round of show jumping but rather bizarrely knocked the first fence down; luckily that couldn’t have mattered at all. He then gave me a nice ride cross country and is hopefully now ready for the 2* track at Gatcombe.

I was also having the first run on Priorspark Passionate, and she did a pleasing test of 28 putting her in the lead. She jumped a good clear show jumping which we were all very pleased about as she can get a bit tense.  I then had a very silly runout at an angle hedge as I didn’t quite get the strides right after the preceding ditch.  She is hoping to go to Osberton but it is still very early days.

With all that was going on and the excitement at Burghley it was very funny to be at rather different competition for the first time.
