Sadly more rain made conditions at Tweseldown today even worse than yesterday.

The Novice track was certainly a good one and on the strong side but in the end I only ran my most experienced horse Deli Star Hero in the Open Novice.  He was very fresh in the dressage to score 37 and then went double clear.  He gave me a good ride and seemed to quite enjoy the mud.

Henton For Fun and Brass Monkey both did nice tests in quite bad conditions so I was very pleased with them.  They had eight and four penalties in the show jumping which was quite respectable and I then decided to withdraw which was a shame.  It is early in the season and I felt the conditions were just too testing on these two less experienced horses.

Shacklesborough was in the Novice with my rider Nicholas Bordas.  He did a nice test but we then decided to withdraw him from both the jumping and the cross country phases for the same reasons.

It was a very tricky day for all concerned and as always there was disagreement between those who thought it was fit to run and those who didn't.  There was sadly lots of withdrawals but they are still very much hoping to run over the weekend...
