Aston Le Walls (2)

We had a lovely day at Aston Le Walls today in 20 degrees and sunshine, and for the first time this year we all got quite sweaty.

Little Fire was feeling fairly crazy and I won’t dwell on his dressage but it was rather lively and not very good.  Somehow he ended up with a 36.  He then did a nice easy double clear and was certainly very happy to be having some fun.

Oratorio did a very decent dressage of 26 which had him at the head of affairs, I was really pleased with him, he did nothing wrong which is the main thing and he also did some bits really well.  Show jumping this time was much better, much controlled and he jumped well. He annoyingly had the middle bit of the treble down but I am not too worried about that. He was very good cross country, wasn’t actually too strong and went in a good rythymn, albeit a little slowly for him.  That will hopefully have set him up well for his Advanced run next time out.

Nigel Taylor and his team as always did a fantastic job. Aston was looking great and the courses rode well.
