Cirencester got off to a great start on Saturday with Duke Legacy going really well in the Open Novice.  His dressage was good and he scored 27, he jumped a lovely round with one silly pole down and flew around the cross country.  So he had a very happy day.

Under Oath did a very nice dressage test in the Intermediate, but then my day went slightly pear shaped when I managed to fall off Cayiano, and knock myself out.

I was very lucky it was not serious but with my history there was a lot to be sorted. Poor Alec Lahore and his team had to deal with the whole carry on and I was shipped off to hospital.  The scans are all good but I have been stood down for a while which, with Badminton around the corner, is not great timing.

In respect to everything I then decided to let my Badminton horses have a run around the Open Intermediate today at Cirencester.  Harry Meade was a complete legend and offered to ride them if he could help, and I readily took the offer up because I felt another run could only be good.

Harry is a rider I totally respect and he did a superb job today.  I think they felt everything was quite familiar apart from looking particularly happy to be carrying someone so light!  Harry and I will this week have a further conversation and think about whether it is a good idea for him to run them around the 4* at Thoresby, where I cannot now ride.  That would at least have them ready for Badminton and it will be down to me to get myself fit, albeit independently.
