After the loss of Rockingham, how lucky were we that Tweseldown put on an extra day.

How they can run another whole day at 24hrs notice I can’t begin to imagine, but it was a great day on perfect ground over good courses.

Cayiano kept the flag flying with a pillar to post victory in his Novice class. He led the dressage on 23, jumped an excellent clear show jumping and I was very surprised he added a time fault because we did move on a bit.  He flew around the course and jumped well into the water, showing no loss of confidence after his Aston Le Walls ducking.

Centari was having another Novice run and was excellent.  Did a lovely test to score 31, I felt he could easily have got 22 for the same performance.  He jumped clear and was lovely cross country, and we just incurred a few time faults.  He sadly will not be able to go to Millstreet now in the 2* as he has not done a 2*S to qualify.  Following the Rockingham cancellation, the FEI decided not to allow Bicton to run an extra class so sadly with this weird spring he has not had the necessary runs. I am rather expecting the FEI to pay for my Millstreet returned entry.

Moonlight Charmer was able to run in the Open Intermediate, in preparation for Millstreet.  He did some good work in his dressage but there were bits and bobs, and some neighing so he was a bit off the pace.  We had a nice generous judge who gave several people scores of 16.  He then jumped a very pleasing double clear, I kicked him on a bit cross country and he was only 0.4 of a time fault, so he covered the ground well and gave me a very good feeling.

After a weekend doing various things I am back there on Monday with the other three youngsters.
