West Wilts

We had an enjoyable day at West Wilts today with three of my four Novices doing a double clear, and one was a bit green cross country.

Santini did a double clear and got his first ever BE point. He was clear show jumping, I was really pleased with that. His cross country was much more confident, he is definitely going the right way, and finished 7th.

Cusco was doing his first Novice, and did a nice test of 29.  I was really pleased with him. He show jumped a lovely round.  Annoyingly he had a frustrating glance off once of the skinnies on the cross country.  There were 9 skinnies on the novice course which is slightly crazy.  He glanced off it but jumped it the second time.  He will have learned from this and come on.

BLS Absolutely had another good day, with another win - his third in a row.  He led the dressage on 24.3, jumped a double clear and finished with 0.8 of a time fault. He was feeling like a bit of a grown up and is just about to upgrade to Intermediate.

Lastly was Hussard Brun who also did a double clear.  He didn’t do the best test, some nice work but with a few errors.  He show jumped well with a lovely clear.  On the cross country he was green, but jumped all the skinnies.  I was delighted with him and he will hopefully build on that.

My niece Olivia was also competing alongside the team with her horse Violetta.  She has been at the yard doing some training, preparing for her Pony championships this coming weekend.   They did a nice test to score 32, knocked the last down in the show jumping.  They didn’t go cross country because of the competition at the weekend, but they looked good and all is on target.
