It was Aston today and the rains arrived, and on top of a well watered and aggravated course made for perfect going.

It was a busy day and Summer at Fernhill was on first. He did a pretty decent test overall and scored 28. I was happy with how he is coming on.  He had one fence down in the show jumping like all my horses, but jumped a very good round. And cross country he felt much more focused and settled, but he had a stupid 20 with me failing to get a right hand turn to a box.

Georgisaurous had a very classy win in his section.  He did a beautiful dressage of 19.8 which was faultless, and I am hoping that he can produce that again in Tatts. He remained in the lead after show jumping even with one down, and he really opened up well on the  cross county and got 3.6 which left him comfortably in front.  It was great to be able to let him go on a bit on such good ground and I was delighted with my control.

Grafennacht was slightly lively in the dressage but went pretty well for 27. And she was slightly slower cross country but gave me a great feeling finishing in 6th place with 4 time faults.

Atlantic Vital Spark was a bit buzzy in the dressage because he could see the cross country flying past.  I also let him bowl on cross country and he gave me a great ride like an old pro.  He might have got a rosette but at the moment we don’t know.

The Aston Le Walls team had done a great job with the course, the ground was amazing and it was just what all my 3* horses needed.  And now we are looking towards the weekend and Chatsworth.
