I had a great time in the US with my clinics. I joined Rhonda and Molly Sexton in Ocala, and they did a fantastic job helped by Sarah Kozumplik. I was very pleased to meet up with Sarah as I was kindly lent her horse Rock Phantom for the Masterclass at Aiken
After doing 6 days teaching in Ocala I then headed north to South Carolina and Aiken, to ride in the Masterclass at the Grand Prix Eventing Festival at Bruce's Field. Sadly it didn't quite go to plan but happily there were no disasters. We started well and I was very pleased with Rocky's dressage, but then we struggled with the show jumping, it was quite a decent track and it would have been better if we had known each other better, he rolled four poles but his round was by no means a disgrace. We had a stupid runout on the cross country but I very much enjoyed my round, and it was good for me to have blown away some early season cobwebs as we prepare for Tweseldown this week. Rock Phantom is a lovely new horse for Sarah this season, and she will have a lot of fun with him.
Once I was up in Aiken, Missy Miller had sorted out a couple of days of clinics at Morgan Batton's facility, Vista Schooling Center. I really enjoyed the training I did and was very lucky to have had some spectacular weather. It is now back to reality with getting ready for my 28th Tweseldown(1) and I will certainly be sitting tight on my lot as they are quite on their toes. We have got a busy day Thursday, my three 5* horses are having their first run around an OI, and I am very excited to be having Georgisaurous and Yes I Can out again after quite a long time. Friday is a little less busy with three horses in the BE 100 and Novice. I am really looking forward to seeing all the owners and all us cronies out again.
