The People

Jackie Potts

people - jackie Jackie has been with William for 19 yrs and as head groom is an integral part of the team. In 2006, nominated by William, she won the Groom of the Year Award. She is a regular in the Portman hunting field during the winter months and has the able partner of the much loved Stunning, six times CCI/CIC*** winner, now aged 24. Her and beloved dog Tatts (a gift from William at Tattersalls 3DE one year!) live on site.

William about Jackie: “Jackie and I have enjoyed 19 seasons together, there have been some amazing highs and terrible lows but through them all she has kept her feet firmly on the ground and her chin up. She is a huge support to me, always loyal and it is a absolute privilege to work with someone so dedicated and professional. Jackie is the ultimate team player whether at home on the yard or at a Championship where she flourishes amongst other squad grooms.”

Charlie Walker

Charlie joined Fox-Pitt Eventing in January 2011. Having previously worked for the Dumas, Charlie has a good grounding and is a great asset to the team. As second head and Jackie's right hand girl, Charlie is in charge when Jackie is away. Also holding her HGV, she has proved very useful in helping both William and Jackie with the driving of the horsebox. We are delighted she will be staying with us for 2012.

Jason Picton

Jason joined the team in early 2010. He started off life in the pony club and competed in showing, show jumping and one day events before turning his hand to racing. After a season in Lambourn and a season working with show jumpers, Jason decided it was time to give eventing a go. A total perfectionist, Jason has even been known to give Jackie a run for her money on the turnout front. He has become a crucial member of the team over the past few years and we are very happy he has decided to stay for a thrid season (2012).

Tom Grant

Tom is a new addition to the team for the 2012 season. At the age of just 18 Tom has got an extensive background in horses. Originally from Somerset, he has come up through the Pony Club system, spending the last few years in the JRN program and in 2011 was short listed for the Junior squad. As well as working aspart of the team at Fox-Pitt Eventing Tom hopes to fit in doing his HGV, along with competing his mare Leamhchoill Drifter at CCI** this season.

Olivia Loiacono

Kelly Prather

Kelly was pretty much born on the back of a horse. She joins our team all the way from Bodega, California, USA. Kelly started showing her sisters pony in lead line classes at age 3 and has never looked back!   She represented the USA in the 2009 World Cup Eventing Finals in Poland. She’s competed at Rolex Kentucky 3Day in 2010 & 2011. Kelly trained/sold horses in Ireland for 3 years and for the past 9 years she has been competing and training horses, from the start of their careers to the advanced levels.  After the retirement of Kelly’s long time partner, Ballinakill Glory this past year, she decided it was the perfect time to join our team.  She will be with us for the 2012 season, after that she looks forward to fulfilling her goals of finding her next 4* mounts, representing her country and building a successful Eventing Team. Kelly says “ I am so excited to be here in the heart of an Eventing country, working with a top class team, this is such a wonderful opportunity."

Hannah Vowles

people - hannah Hannah joined the team in April 2010 and her role as PA/Secretary to William and Alice is varied, with everything from accounts to hacking out the horses. Having been a racing secretary for 7 yrs prior to joining us, five with Pat Eddery and two with Sylvester Kirk in Lambourn, she has plenty of experience of the big yards. During the quieter winter months you will more than likely find her on the gallops, where she enjoys riding out her point to pointer, or in the Hunting field. Hannah's mother has been secretary to Gill Watson (trainer of the British Junior and Young Rider 3DE teams) for the past 20yrs and her sister team chases an old horse of William’s.

Tim Jennings

Tim’s role as star maintenance man began in Bicester. He was then persuaded a move to Dorset was a good idea and he became a full time member of staff from then on. Tim keeps the whole yard ticking over, maintains the gallops, lorries, machinery and generally keeps Wood Lane Stables in ship shape. He lives in the village with wife Sarah and two sons Henry and William.
