So we rushed back from Blair with Charlie and Hector driving.  The children came with us so we all slept in a heap in the Luton.

We got back at 6am and left for Wellington at 7.30am!

We picked up Little Fire and Oslo and Jackie took over the steering wheel.  It was lovely to have Oslo back in action and he did a good test of 26 and jumped well, but knocked the first fence down.  He was very happy to be out, but understandably a little quiet having been up at Blair for five days working hard on the hills.  It was great to see all of his supportive owners there and I reall hope that we will have him out again fit and well for Blenheim Event Rider Masters.

I was also riding Little Fire who did quite a nice test to score 30.  He made a few mistakes but overall went well.  In the show jumping he was very excitable and just rolled a couple of poles, perhaps because he was busily looking at all the trade stands.  I had decided to run him cross country because he has been on the back burner for a while and he went very well, producing a nice clear.

The ground was on the firm side but the Wellington team had done a fantastic job producing very level going which had a good spring to it, so I felt it was good enough to have a quiet canter around.

I am now enjoying a few days at home before heading up to Burghley on Friday to do my Fox-Pitt Eventing Club course walk and I very much looking forward to seeing some of you there, I shall be very sorry not to be riding.
