Stonar today was the first time the Novices have been out for quite a while and it was a very useful exercise.

Brass Monkey was the best result of the day winning his Novice section on his dressage score of 26.  He did a very pleasing test and his mark had him in the lead.  He jumped extremely well and considering he has not been cross country for six weeks he was very impressive.

Deli Dynamic was the only other one that I ran across country.  He scored 28 in the dressage but unfortunately rolled three poles in the show jumping.  He gave me a very good ride across country picking up just 0.8 time faults.

Henton For Fun definitely broke my record in the dressage scoring 12.5!  I was very pleased with his test and delighted how relaxed he was as it was his first time out since Tattersalls.  He had two fences down show jumping and I didn’t run him across country, which was always the plan.

Luxury FH, who like Henton For Fun was having his first run since Tattersalls, scored 30 in the dressage in his section and again I was pleased with his attitude.  He jumped a good clear show jumping and I withdrew him before going cross country as he is competing in the NRF at Purston on Sunday so I couldn’t afford to take the risk.

Top Biats felt very good and led his section in the dressage on a score of 21.  He rolled a pole in the show jumping and I also decided not to run him across country.

It is amazing how firm the ground has got but Stonar did a superb job going to huge trouble aggravating the ground, they had even done the show jumping and cross country warm ups which was much appreciated.
