South of England

Overall we had a very good weekend at South of England.

On Saturday I had the youngsters out in the BE100 classes.  Star Time is coming along nicely and finished 10th giving me a very good ride across country.  Goldsmiths Enzo is improving with each run and finished 8th.  Freddie Mac was having his second run with me and was a very pleasing 4th.  I also rode another horse for my Mother, Machu Picchu.  Having never ridden her before I was delighted with how she went, finishing 5th.

Sunday was also a satisfactory day.  Before Time was having an Intermediate run, his first outing since Blair, and  I was pleased with how good he felt.  He scored 26.8 in the dressage and jumped an excellent double clear with just a few time faults to finish 3rd.  In the Open Intermediate Macchiato was on great form and did a good double clear.  Oslo did an excellent dressage of 23.2, had one fence down show jumping and I decided not to run him across country.  Lionheart also did a good test of 29.6 followed by a lovely double clear.  I took him quietly to settle him after his recent run at Blenheim.

For Macchiato, Oslo & Lionheart that will be their last run before they hopefully head to Pau CCI4* in two weeks.

It was excellent to run on some good ground and the courses seemed to ride well although, as usual, the Intermediate track asked plenty of questions.

Before Time (pictured above winning the CCI* at Blair Castle in August, was best placed at
South of England this weekend finishing 3rd in his Intermediate section.
