I was very happy to survive my day at Wellington, as Chilli is now officially en route to Normandy.

The three horses I had today went very well, and it was certainly worth the risk giving them all a run.

Oslo finally had his first cross country run since Badminton 2013, and he went brilliantly. He led the dressage on a score of 23.6, and jumped a super clear show jumping.  I took him very slowly cross country giving his owners plenty of value for money spending a long time on the course.  He gave me a great ride but I did take him slowly as the ground was pretty firm, inevitably having had no rain.  However they had worked hard to do their best on the ground, and I felt it was a safe bet for his first run.

Freddie Mac had a much better day getting 24 in the dressage and lying 2nd.  He hit two fences show jumping but I was happy enough with how he went, and he was very happy and onward bound on the cross country, feeling in need of a decent track which is what he will get next time out at Blenheim.

Fernhill Pimms also had an excellent day, he did a lovely test of 24.6 which was joint 3rd with Pippa Funnell and Billy Landretti.  He jumped a good clear, and cross country he felt very smooth and confident, and that has now given him his third good run this year before Blenheim.

Wellington had done a great job preparing the ground but with my three horses aiming for big autumn targets I decided to take them all very steadily.

Chillis WEG preparation is now behind us and he is on his way to France.  He is feeling on very good form and has been working really well.  There is nothing more to do now, so there is everything to go for.

Bay My Hero is also on excellent form but hopefully Burghley remains his main target and I could not be happier with how well he is feeling.
