Day two at Tweseldown gave the young ones a useful outing.

No surprise wins like yesterday, but Ramdam de Mons finished 7th in the Open Novice.  He did a lovely dressage of 25.5, then had the last fence down show jumping which was a shame.  He was then excellent cross country getting 4.4 time faults, giving him his second good run of the season.

The Soapdodger was my only double clear, having done a 27.8 dressage which I was pleased with, but 10 time faults put him just out of the money.

Reinstated was a little behind him in the dressage on 29. He had a fence down and then was fabulous cross country, incurring 5.2 time faults.

Dynasty notched up another good Novice clear, and it is encouraging to feel him coming along so well. He was a little unsettled in the contact in the dressage which was very unlike him and as a result he scored 33.3.  He had a couple of fences down but was quite keen and onward bound.

I was delighted with Little Fire competing in his first BE Novice.  He was second after the dressage on a score of 25, despite a few inattentive moments, but he does also produce some excellent work.  He also rolled two poles and then was really good cross country and didn't blink at a thing.  However he did get a shock when a motorbike started up under his nose on the way to the start, depositing me very effectively on my backside.  He is quite a sharp character and I have waited for that moment with dread, very glad to have that under my belt, hopefully not to be repeated.
