Hartpury

Parklane Hawk is in the Mitsubishi section of the CIC*** which is doing dressage in the indoor school.  He did a very nice test to score 45, bits of his work were superb but there was some green moments which would have been quite expensive on the marking.  He warmed up brilliantly which was very exciting and it won’t be long before his work in the arena becomes much more confident.   At the moment his score leaves him in contention, initially his mark went up as 57.1 which we were fairly horrified about and happily it has since been amended to the correct score of 45.

Cool Mountain was in the outside arena and also did a very good test to also score 45. At the time of his test he went into third place but he made three small mistakes, enough to expect there to be several better scores before tomorrow’s show jumping begins.  Overall though his work is improving all the time which is encouraging as we still have six weeks until WEG.

The ground at Hartpury is dry and hard but they are working on it with the aggravator as we speak.  However, it remains to be seen how the ground will look on Sunday after two hundred 1* and 2* horses have run on Saturday.  Lionheart’s cross country will be at the end of the day tomorrow and I will be taking him quietly as the aim of the weekend is to get his 2* qualification secured.
