We are very lucky that Larkhill could run today and had managed to avoid the rain, producing very good ground.

The Graduate was moving up to Novice for the first time which was a big question for him, but I felt he was more than ready.  He did a super dressage of 32, jumped a lovely clear show jumping - when clears were quite hard to come by.  The show jumping at Larkhill is on a slope and I would never take a clear round here for granted.  The cross country course was excellent and asked a few questions.  The Graduate annoyingly had a silly runout at a skinny, but took it well the second time, and felt very good and confident around the rest.  He gave me a good feeling and showed plenty of ability so he will now hopefully stay at Novice level.

Little Fire was out again, and did a nice test but only scored 32. He then did a great double clear feeling quite full of himself and enjoying every minute. His next run will be Belton Intermediate and he is more than ready for a few questions.

Secret Night was out again and was excellent, scoring 26 in the dressage with a lovely test. And then jumping a lovely double clear.  He and Little Fire were only HC in the Novice so didn’t come home with any rosettes.

It is very sad for South of England that they had to cancel this weekend.  I am off to Weston Park tomorrow, so am hoping the rain has stayed away because it can be wet there on a good day.
