Burghley

Burghley today could not have gone better.

Parklane Hawk really stepped up to the mark producing a brilliant clear inside the time. The course rode big from start to finish and for his first CCI4* this was a real test, but he answered every question.  Due to the unfortunate elimination of overnight leader Simone Dietermann, we now find ourselves at the top of the leader board going into tomorrow's show jumping phase.  

Neuf Des Coeurs also produced a great round however picked up 3.6 time penalties which cost him a couple of places and he sits in 9th going into the show jumping. Both horses appear in good form tonight so fingers crossed for the morning.To be leading and to have my second horse in the top ten going into the show jumping is an excellent position to be in but the scores at the top are extremely close with just a pole covering the top four places.  Both horses will need to jump well and the pressure will certainly be on.

The show jumping phase will start in reverse order at 10.30am in the main arena with the top 20 horses at 2.30pm. Prize giving is at 4pm.
